It’s here! The third episode of Love Zero Waste: Leading Change.

We generate two billion tonnes of municipal solid waste every year. That’s a 2 followed by 9 zeros. The numbers keep rising, and the current narrow focus on recycling does next to nothing to change that. Enter: Waste reduction and minimisation and our dear friend Extended Producer Responsibility.

In this episode of Love Zero Waste you’ll learn more about creating and leading change at the policy, as well as citizen level. We’re diving deeper into the possibilities of drastically reducing waste through shifting the responsibility from consumers to designers and manufacturers, through cutting out all single-use items (not just those made out of plastics!) and through creating stricter laws and shifting how we think about waste and all the stuff we surround ourselves with.

Listen to interviews with our experts Libby Peake, senior policy adviser at Green Alliance, in London and Rustan Nilsson, environmental educator of SYSAV, a waste management facility in Malmö, Sweden.

(Bonus: If you didn’t know what a policy is, you'll know after this episode. Yayy!!)

Hosts: Malin Leth and Evelina Lundqvist.

We’d love to get your feedback!
